Liverpool ‘Top City’ For Property Regeneration

Liverpool is a prime UK city for commercial and residential property regeneration, new research has revealed. Property Investor Today highlighted a study conducted by Glide, a fibre broadband specialist, which found that the North-West city has 15,339 unoccupied buildings at present.

If you own one (or more) of them but aren’t in a position to put the money into the redevelopment of your commercial property, you might be thinking, ‘I want to sell my commercial property’. If that’s the case, talk to us!

However, it’s not just commercial properties that could benefit from a facelift. Residential properties can also have great development potential. The Glide research found that there are 11,073 unoccupied residential properties in Liverpool, which could be brought back into use and help ease the UK’s housing crisis.

Jason Lloyd, head of residential at Glide, told the news provider that the research found a high number of vacant properties across the UK, both residential and commercial.

“Whilst it’s troubling to see so much wasted residential and commercial space, it does represent a clear opportunity for developers,” he stated.

There’s plenty of evidence that Liverpool is an up-and-coming city, with one of the largest regeneration projects in the city announced in October last year.

The City Council agreed plans to create a “world class” commercial business district in the centre of Liverpool, which will help deliver much-needed office space for the city. Under the plan, up to two million sq ft of office space could be constructed in the coming 15 years, with 12 sites already identified as potential areas for expansion.
